The group stage of the Rock and Roll Cup has come to an end once again. Across the four groups, we witnessed a total of twenty-four matches, featuring several surprises, dominant victories, and closely contested battles. The field for the knockout stage has now been set, and the leading contenders for the championship title are beginning to emerge.
Let's take a closer look at the final group standings!

Group A

An unusual situation developed in Group A. The team that collected the most points won all of its matches, gathered a total of 77 votes, and finished at the top with 12 points. However, they have withdrawn from the competition.
As a result, Duckers became the strongest active qualifier from the group. The band collected 34 votes and finished the group stage with 13 points. A fierce battle developed for the second qualifying spot, with Black Frogs ultimately finishing ahead of the defending champions and former cup winners Redneck Roadkill with 10 points.
Particularly noteworthy was Black Frogs' 11:1 victory in one of the headline matchups, which played a major role in securing their qualification.

Group B

In Group B, Jerry Lee's Rock and Roll Service once again demonstrated their strength. The team won the group with a flawless performance, three victories, and an outstanding total of 100 votes. As three-time cup champions, their progression to the knockout stage was never really in doubt.
Rockin' RockCats advanced in second place. Although they suffered defeat against the group winners, they confidently won their other two matches and secured their place in the quarter-finals with 12 points.
This time, neither Hungária nor Rockabilly Rulez managed to reach the knockout stage. Hungária's supporters may feel that there was more potential in this campaign, as several of their matches were much closer than the standings might suggest.

Group C

In Group C, CandyMen Duo proved to be the most successful team in the field. With three victories, 18 points, and 47 votes, they confidently claimed first place.
The second qualifying position went to Los Black Ones. Although they received considerably fewer votes, their consistent performance was enough to secure a strong runner-up finish.
Peter Andorai & the Graceband and Flying Times were unable to secure qualification this time. Several matches in the group were decided by relatively low vote counts, highlighting just how evenly balanced the competition was.

B'15 finished in second place. The group earned two victories and collected enough votes to stay ahead of Ati Edge and the Shadowbirds.
Pedrofon's performance stood out not only within the group but across the entire competition. They collected the highest number of votes during the group stage and are naturally considered one of the leading contenders for the cup.

Rock and Roll is a popular music genre that emerged in the United States during the 1950s. It combines elements of rhythm and blues, country, gospel, and jazz into an energetic and danceable style. The music is characterized by strong rhythms, electric guitars, and catchy melodies. Early pioneers such as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley helped bring Rock and Roll to a worldwide audience. Its influence shaped many modern music genres and continues to inspire musicians today.

"Before Elvis there was nothing.” - John Lennon (Beatles)

Rockabilly is one of the earliest forms of Rock and Roll, developing in the United States in the early 1950s. It blends country music, particularly hillbilly music, with rhythm and blues influences. The style is known for its upbeat tempo, twangy guitars, and distinctive slap-back echo on vocals. Artists like Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis were major figures in the Rockabilly movement. Today, Rockabilly remains popular among fans who appreciate its vintage sound and unique fashion culture.

Blues is a music genre that originated within African American communities in the southern United States during the late 19th century. It is known for its emotional expression, often reflecting themes of hardship, love, and resilience. Blues music typically follows a twelve-bar chord progression and features expressive vocals and instrumental solos. Influential musicians such as B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Robert Johnson helped define the genre. The Blues became the foundation for many later music styles, including Rock and Roll, jazz, and soul.

Country is a genre of music that originated in the rural regions of the southern United States during the early 20th century. It combines folk traditions, storytelling lyrics, and simple yet memorable melodies. Common instruments include acoustic guitar, fiddle, banjo, and steel guitar. Country songs often focus on everyday life, family, love, and personal experiences. Artists such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson helped make Country music one of the most popular genres in the world.

Beat music is a genre that developed in the United Kingdom during the late 1950s and early 1960s. It combines elements of Rock and Roll, rhythm and blues, and skiffle music. The style is characterized by strong backbeat rhythms, vocal harmonies, and guitar-driven arrangements. Bands such as The Beatles, The Searchers, and Gerry and the Pacemakers became leading representatives of the Beat movement. Beat music played a major role in the British Invasion and significantly influenced the development of modern pop and rock music.
